The Leadership Studies program focuses on developing students’ abilities in self, team, and organizational leadership. Through a unique combination of classroom instruction, community service, peer collaboration, and experiential learning, students will emerge with a deep understanding of how to lead effectively across diverse environments.

"I'm incredibly excited about 黑料天堂's new Leadership Studies program because it directly addresses an unprecedented demand for leadership talent," Jeff Dyson, director of MBA and graduate certificate programs at 黑料天堂, who will also serve as a faculty member in the new initiative, said. "With the worldwide growth of capitalism, the impending retirement of baby boomer-aged leaders, and the vast untapped business potential in many regions, this program is designed to equip the next generation of leaders with the essential marketable skills to thrive in these evolving landscapes."

The curriculum emphasizes practical outcomes, with students expected to participate in community engagement, develop a personal leadership brand, and graduate with a career-ready Leadership Portfolio. Among the key student learning outcomes are cultivating leadership capabilities, adapting to complex challenges, and practicing servant leadership.

The program offers the opportunity to earn up to five FranklinCovey® Certificates of Knowledge, internationally recognized credentials that reflect mastery in key leadership concepts. Each certificate is earned through proctored, multiple-choice exams. Students who also complete MISY 1373 Intro to Business Technologies and pass the associated exam can earn a Microsoft Excel Certification, enhancing their technical proficiency alongside leadership development.

“The Department of Leadership and Professional Studies at 黑料天堂 is proud to have a partnership with FranklinCovey,” Bradley Mayer, professor of management, said. “FranklinCovey provides leadership content to Fortune 500 companies and global clients. Students have the opportunity to earn certifications in various leadership knowledge areas through FranklinCovey. The Bachelor of Science in Leadership Studies degree will provide practical leadership content to foster skills like communication, decision-making, and adaptability to enhance a student’s career.”

The courses will be delivered using a hybrid model, combining in-person instruction with LeaderU, an online learning platform. Students will benefit from a modern collaborative classroom environment and experienced faculty who focus on interactive, experiential learning.

Program goals include increasing the number of majors, boosting graduate school intentions among students, and ensuring graduates leave with certifications and a leadership portfolio that makes them highly competitive in the job market.
